Burger of the month - the Lösnummer

To wrap up the year in the best possible way, we at Lösnummer joined creative forces with Örebro Kårhus to develop our very own—and certainly unique—creation: the Lösnummer Burger.

At its core, it’s a halloumi burger. Reliable, crispy, and always trustworthy. But it’s the toppings that make this burger something out of the ordinary. Here you’ll find chipotle mayo that brings a pleasant heat, fresh lettuce for balance, and pickled red onion for that essential acidity. And last but absolutely not least: orange marmalade.

Yes, you read that right. Orange marmalade🍊

We know it might sound like an unexpected element, maybe even a flavor that stands out from what you’re used to. We freely admit we raised our own eyebrows when the idea first came up. But the surprise was even greater when we finally tasted it and realized how beautifully the flavors actually work together. After all, the combination of cheese and marmalade is a classic in other contexts, so why not in a burger?

It should be said, however: balance is crucial. The marmalade is both sweet and prominent, and there is a risk it might take over if there’s too much of it on the burger. But when you hit the right ratio between the pickled red onion’s acidity and the marmalade’s sweetness, the burger lands in a very pleasant middle ground—unexpected but functional, bold yet familiar.

Of course, we’re biased; after all, we helped create the burger. But that’s also why we want to be honest: it’s not for everyone. If you don’t like sweetness in your food, the orange marmalade might be a challenge. But if you like halloumi, if you enjoy trying something new, and above all if you like being surprised, then we think the Lösnummer Burger might be worth a chance.

In any case, we stand proudly behind it, we’re happy with how it turned out, and we hope more people dare to give it a try.
