Burger of the month - Corax

March finally brings some long-awaited sunshine, and with it comes the Burger of the Month, created by the student section Corax together with kåren. It’s a fun initiative by kåren to collaborate with the sections, allowing them to be creative and come up with something enjoyable together.

The burger consists of a brioche bun, spicy hot honey-glazed chicken, tomato, lettuce and aioli. At first glance, it’s an interesting combination. Unfortunately, when the burger was served it looked a bit plain, though that is perhaps fairly common when it comes to burgers.

The brioche bun was soft, fresh and perfectly grilled on the outside. Both the lettuce and the tomato add a fresh element, while the chicken provides a pleasant crispiness. The chicken is coated in a hot honey glaze that tastes good, but unfortunately it tends to overpower the aioli. You can taste the aioli during the first few bites, but after that it unfortunately fades into the background.

The chicken is fairly spicy, and the aftertaste lingers long after finishing the burger. In the end, it mostly comes down to personal taste. If you enjoy a bit more heat than usual, this might be a burger for you.

Overall, the burger sounds fresh and pleasant. It tastes good, though it is somewhat basic and nothing particularly extraordinary. That doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing — sometimes simpler is better. While it looked a bit plain, it still didn’t feel like a typical greasy fast-food chain burger.
