New lunch menu at kåren

When a new menu appears on campus, it often sparks curiosity among students. Are the dishes tasty, do they fill you up, and are they worth the money? To find out, we tested some of the options on the menu and reviewed them based on taste, portion size, and overall impression.

The new menu includes, among other things, tacos with pulled pork. One positive aspect is that you get a lot of freedom to choose your own toppings. Using pulled pork instead of ground beef also makes it stand out a bit more than the usual taco.

The taste is generally good, but the pulled pork that was served was unfortunately a bit dry. The nacho chips also made it a little difficult to eat, as it easily becomes quite messy.

The portion size still feels sufficient and leaves you full. Compared to previous menus, this one feels a bit more varied and fresh.

The next item on the menu is chicken gyros with bread. At first glance, the dish looks quite simple and perhaps a bit boring, but once you fill your plate with sauce and salad it becomes much more appealing. It may not look like a lot of food, but the portion turns out to be more filling than you might first expect.

The taste is generally good, and the bread is soft and fluffy, which really elevates the dish. Compared to previous options on the menu, this product feels like an improvement. Since lasagna and cevapcici have already been served fairly recently, it’s also nice to get something new for a bit of variety.

Last but not least, the vegetarian vegetable and cheese pie is a light yet filling dish. The taste is good, and the pie pairs well with tzatziki. The salad served alongside also makes the meal feel more complete and helps make it properly filling. The olives give the pie more character, even though I personally don’t like olives. However, that’s more a matter of taste, and they were easy to pick off. The dish works well as a vegetarian option on the menu.
